Sammi & Mike – Toledo, OH

Sammi & Mike

On Saturday, April 16, 2011 heaven sprinkled down blessings as Mike and Sammi became Mr. and Mrs. Soriano. The wedding was held at the beautiful Westgate Chapel in Toledo, OH. I’ve heard it said that a little rain on your wedding day is good luck, it promotes a strong marriage. It is known that a wet knot is impossible to untie, hence the term that a couple is, “tying the knot”.

The ceremony was beautiful, with candles aglow in the candelabras, and the unity candle standing as a beacon of light for the love they share for one another as they become one. As they stood in front of the old rugged cross, I couldn’t help from thinking how this one spot was chosen by the couple, to declare their love for one another. I reflected on how poignant it all was as they begin their new married life together. The church rows were lined in matching cluster flowers, as the bride herself. A bounty of hydrangeas, white carnations, sprigs of sage, and a touch of sparkle from the gems infused her bouquet with beauty. The bridesmaids bouquets were fun and colorful, just as delightful as each of their personalities. Ballet pink roses, coral Gerber daisies, yellow lilies, all tied sweetly with a sage organza ribbon that was simply a delightful symphony for the eyes. Classic pearls were worn by the bridesmaids, as well as the bride but her earrings were worn in a fresh new way that was all her own.

Once arriving at the gardens, the girls had fun posing with some colorful umbrellas. The rain began to slow, and the sun peaked out from the clouds. God’s timing is as always impeccable, and I was able to capture many sweet, fun, and delightful moments of the couple together in the sunshine. Sammi’s smile is so radiant and Mike just simply cherishes her. The love they have for one another is a genuine love that it truly lovely to witness. Calming, yet strong, compassionate and always seeking out the best for each other. The reception was held at the lovely Sylvania Country Club where friends and family gathered to celebrate their amazing day! I hope the next time it rains, they think of it as though God is wetting the knot and making their love stronger, year after year.

Congratulations Sammi & Mike!
